Who We Are

HCPR was founded in 1967 and has grown from 1 small park property to 20 properties, representing approximately 2,000 acres of land during that time. The department hosts 400+ educational programs and events and serves several hundred thousand residents and guests annually in support of our mission of improving the quality of life for our residents and visitors.

What We Do

The Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department exists to serve the leisure and recreation needs of its residents and tourists, and to enhance the quality of life in the county. We strive to preserve and provide high-quality, passive parks and facilities, to offer historical and natural resource education and services, and to be recognized as a leader and resource for our community and its citizens in the pursuit of living an environmentally responsible lifestyle.
